ODDICT TWIG wins Red Dot for high design quality

Fountain Valley, Calif. April 12, 2021. ODDICT has been successful in the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021. The international jury has awarded TWIG earbuds the distinction “Red Dot”, which stands for high design quality.

Oddict, a new lifestyle tech brand that creates beautifully designed, high-quality audio accessories announces its launch in the U.S. with its first product, the Twig true wireless earbuds. Twig is offered at a highly competitive price without compromising on additional features such as a companion app and a high-end, trendy design.

Featuring dual carbon, 12mm driver units for distortion-free sound reproduction, Twig provides listeners with premium sound, Bluetooth 5.0, quick charging capabilities, a secure and comfortable fit with included silicone ear tips, dual microphones to provide clearer sound quality during calls and an IPX4 waterproof rating for light sweat or water resistance.

All Twig earbuds are compatible with the intuitive Oddict companion app, available on the App Store and Google Play. Once users connect their earbuds with the dedicated app, they will be able to fine-tune the equalizer settings and save presets for their musical preference. They can also change the product device name, access device connection history, control auto play/pause and update the firmware with wireless support.

The aluminum bar body not only gives the earbuds a distinct appearance when worn but provides a unique feeling to the touch that other plastic earbuds cannot. Designed for true wireless earbud users who like to stand out with stylish, wearable tech, the Twig’s unique hybrid design combines advantages of both an open and in-ear type earbud to create a comfortable and easy fit. Each set of Twig earbuds also include a pair of silicon tips that wearers can use to fit the buds to their ear for improved sound isolation. Twig’s aluminium shaft features touch sensors that allow for easy control of phone calls and music. Dual microphones provide crystal clear audio and the fine-tuned drivers provide users with a well-balanced sound profile.

Twig’s charging case was designed as an art piece, featuring the same anodized aluminum material as the earbuds, giving the case the appearance of a jewelry box. When fully charged, Twig provides listeners with 3 hours of playtime. The quick charging feature can provide 1 hour of playtime with only 10 minutes of charging with Qi wireless charging or the included USB-C cable.

Each Twig package includes the Twig earbuds, charging case, a USB-C charging cable, and a pair of silicon tips. Oddict’s Twig is available now in Aluminum Gray for $139 on amazon.com and oddictofficial.com.

Red Dot CEO Professor Dr. Peter Zec on the laureates

“The winners of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021 were particularly impressive this year. The design of their products is excellent, in terms of both the aesthetic and the functionality. It’s not easy to prevail in such a strong field of competitors and to win over our jury. Consequently, I want to congratulate the laureates very sincerely on their success,” said Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO of Red Dot.

Evaluation platform for good design

The Red Dot Award: Product Design dates back as far as 1955 and recognises the best products for a given year. The roughly 50 jurors were once again true to the motto “In search of good design and innovation” in the 2021 competition. The international panel of experts comprises specialists from a wide variety of sectors. They scrutinized the products entered in the competition in a process that spanned several days and were guided by assessment criteria such as the product’s formal quality, ergonomics and longevity.

TWIG in exhibitions, online and in the yearbook

TWIG can be seen in the online exhibition on the Red Dot website from 21 June 2021. That date also marks the beginning of the Red Dot Design Week, during which this year’s award winners and ODDICT will be celebrated online.

From 22 June 2021, TWIG will also be included in the exhibition “Design on Stage” in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen, where all of the award-winning products are showcased. Visitors to the museum can experience the quality of the designs in a space that features contemporary design solutions and historical industrial architecture. The Red Dot Design Yearbook 2021/2022 comes out in August. The publication provides a comprehensive overview of the state of the art and trends in product design.
